Youth With A Mission (YWAM) has been active in the Cagayan de Oro (CDO) area of Mindanao since 1986, when early outreach teams began working in the region (initially linked to pioneering efforts in nearby Surigao). YWAM CDO operates as a vibrant urban base located in , the most populous barangay in Cagayan de Oro.

Over the decades, the base has focused on discipleship, evangelism, community outreach, children’s ministries (such as Vacation Bible Schools), worship, intercession, and short-term missions. It serves as a hub for training and sending workers, particularly reaching local youth and families in the bustling urban environment of northern Mindanao. Today, under leaders like Base Leader Victor and Blaine Palma, YWAM Carmen continues to embody YWAM’s global call “to know God and to make Him known” through practical mercy ministries, Bible teaching, and cross-cultural teams in the Philippines and beyond.
